Day 25

Multicoloured!

Some of the table name holders from the wedding that are on display in our kitchen.

Day 24

My Wedding Shoes

My favourite shoes, and my favourite purple thing I own.

Day 23

Happy birthday Marty

First birthday as a married man, and what does he get? A wooden train set! He's a grown up, honest!

Day 22 - Colours of the Rainbow Week

My fabric (well most of it!)

Day 21

Mucking around.

Because of the freezing temperatures the lake had a layer of ice on it. Thick enough to withstand some small stones and make the most amazing sound, but thin enough to peg large stones through!

Day 20

My Husband. Enough Said!

Day 19

Helping out my Friends

A firne of mine has a project due in tomorrow. It's a stop motion project and she had the most amazing models and set made. My morning consisted of moving models and taking pictures, until my camera battery died.....

Day 18

My Sewing Machine

I've lost count of how many quilts I've made on this for friends, relatives and strangers. I inherited this machine from my Grandmother, complete with original needles. When she bought it in the late 60's it was a top of the range machine, and I have not yet had one single issue with it. It's a dream to use and so quiet. I hope I make as much use out of it as I can, making as many people as possible happy with things to look pretty or keep them warm.

Day 16

My sister (and puppies, and purple stuff!)

Day 15 - My Favourite Things

Nature, exploring, spending time with Martin & the dogs.
Phew I killed a lot with the one stone (or picture) there! Today Marty brought me through the woos to show me his "romantic pretty stream" and as we made our way through them we discovered this ruin. I was completely fascinated by it, and it's special little tunnel to let water through underneath. His stream was very pretty too. It was a fabulous way to spend an afternoon. Even as a child I used to love going galavanting through the fields and getting wet and mucky. Some things never change!

Day 14

My Blanket

It's now used to cover the budgie at night. It wasn't a "blankie" as such because I didn't carry it around everywhere, but it was the blanket that was used to tuck me in at night :)

Day 13

Playing scrabble and other board games were what my winter evenings consisted of when I was younger. We didn't (any my parents still don't) have a television and so used to read and awful lot. On winter evenings we'd all pile into the living room and play scrabble, rummikub, chess, canasta and lots of other games. It's a tradition I hope to continue when we have our own family.

Day 12

Gingerbread Houses

My granny (Oma) was the most fabulous baker and ever winter would bake gingerbread houses. I will dig out some photos for here at some point. When she died and I was going through the house before we moved in, I found all her patterns and recipes.

Day 11

Lego!

I loved lego, still do. So much that I got lego as a birthday present for my 27th birthday and we spent new year's eve building houses out of lego.

Day 10

Stationery

Almost every bit of pocket money I got when I was younger was spend on stationery. I still get a warm fuzzy feeling and a quickening heartbeat when I see a very pretty pen. As a result I have loads of pens, ink, paper clips and other office-y type equipment. I also have an old in-store bag that is full of adhesives, from sellotape, to various thicknesses of double sided tape and so forth...

Day 5

Always try to bring the camera. Since we got a small point & shoot camera, and I got a camera bag for Christmas for our DSLR I now have no excuse for not having a camera on me most of the time. Had the camera not been beside me I wouldn't have captured this stray butterfly having a nap with the puppies...

Day 4

I will read the manual! My attempt at turning the camera to manual didn't quite work out as planned....
Oh how I miss my old SLR.

Day 3

Learn to Bake like Mama.

Every year my mum bakes cookies for Christmas. She starts on the First of December and bakes a different variety every single day. This year if I even manage three or four varieties I will be very happy. I must get the recipes off her so they can be handed down. My favourite? There are way too many to choose!

Day 2

Try not to get too attached...... Try.

We are fostering two puppies, this is them at 19 days old, we've had them since they were 4 days old. handrearing is difficult, but very rewarding.

Day 1

This year I resolve to start my college projects early, so I am not rushing finishing them at the last minute.
